Let’s meet our Human Resources Manager : Morgane MAURY

MMA

We questioned Morgane MAURY to learn more about her, beyond her function of Director of the Human Resources.

Morgane came on board as a freelancer in June 2020, first on an audit assignment for the HR function at Orinox, and then as HRD to structure the function. She realized that she couldn't do without us, and was hired in March 2021! !

  • What motivates you to come to work at ORINOX in the morning ?

  1. The ORINOX team: the HR team with whom we work together on a daily basis and with whom the work is interesting and efficient, and more generally, the colleagues I work with every day.
  2. ORINOX's project/ambition: I think it's great to contribute to the growth of a company that started from scratch 14 years ago.
  3. Values: I have strong convictions in terms of Corporate Social Responsibility, I wanted to work in a company that shares them beyond a marketing message

  • Isn't it too hard to leave work when you have such a great team?

I admit that I am lucky to have a team that I appreciate, both for the people one by one and for the dynamic that we have created together. And so I don't see the time flying by !

  • What impressed you the most when you joined ORINOX?

I came in during COVID - lockdown. I didn't have an integration. I didn't see many colleagues for almost a year. In the context of my work, I immediately noticed a quality/process demand that I had not seen elsewhere, in companies of comparable size.

  • How did your integration went?

Like nowhere else due to the context !

  • How do you think HR will evolve at ORINOX ?

We have become well-structured over the past two years. I think that HR is now well positioned to support employees, business and managers, and I hope that it will continue.

Above all, my team and I are working to ensure that the HR department is able to handle the expected growth, while making sure that every ORINOXIAN can be assured that the HR department knows him or her, manages him or her with his or her specific needs, and continues to tailor its work to the individual. The worst thing anyone could say to me is that ORINOX HR treats employees like numbers!

  • What are the strengths and pretty weaknesses of a good HR?

Listening is essential .

The risk for a person working in the HR department would be to take only the HR aspects into account in a decision when it is essential to take into account the global ecosystem (business, production, legal framework, finance...).

  • Who is for you the most influential person in the HR world?

Dave Ulrich is often quoted as the HR guru.

I prefer entrepreneurs who are able to develop their company while establishing a good social climate, well-being in the company and daring to innovate from an HR point of view. I am thinking for example of Marc Benioff, the co-founder and chairman of Salesforce.

  • What is the most remarkable HR innovation you have observed / implemented?

I worked for a company in the industrial sector (a printing company) that the manager wanted to " liberate ". It was a small company with 10 employees, all of them having been in place for more than 10 years and managed by an "old-fashioned" boss. The buyer did not want this type of management and asked me to help him work on the implementation of liberated management. A rewarding adventure.

  • What do you think is the ideal company or employee?

The ideal company has a purpose, true values, provides a framework, follows its employees, gives them perspectives but does not deprive them of freedom. It doesn't mess with the law, it respects it strictly. It is transparent and fair. The ideal company should be committed to the fight against global warming.

I don't know what the ideal employee is, and besides, it probably wouldn't be interesting !

  • How do you see the HR function in the future?

Central for several reasons:

1. the shortage of workforce will force companies and therefore HR to innovate, to renew themselves.

2. After the all-digital era, we will have to reinvent the human relationship at work.

3. Loyalty to a company is no longer a given.

These challenges will have to be managed by the HR function, which will have to be a force for proposal and challenge itself.

  • Finally, a few more fun questions:

- Sea or Mountain? Sea.

- Jam or Nutella ? Nutella.

- Bike or scooter ? Bike.

- Bridgerton or Game of Thrones? Bridgerton.

- What's the place/room where you feel most comfortable? On the Dunes' beach in Beg Meil.

- How do you relax? I chat a lot with my friends and practice walking.
