AVEVA acquired the Belgian group Bocad in 2012 to provide advanced solutions for metal structural design. The purpose of this acquisition is to offer new products that will push the structural design capabilities but also enable the standardization and automation of the design.
Following this purchase, AVEVA will establish a new Center of Excellence to continue to develop and provide support for Bocad products. Dave Wheedon, AVEVA CTO, described the benefits of Bocad solutions:
"A closer integration between the design of piping and metal structures will enable engineers and manufacturers to work more collaboratively to improve collision detection and better control change management. This will lead to major improvements in quality and efficiency."
AVEVA Bocad extends the range of possibilities of AVEVA tools. Customers can now benefit from this module both independently or directly in the AVEVA PDMS or E3D interface.
AVEVA Bocad Solutions
AVEVA Bocad Steel provides an efficient and complete solution for detail design and output for manufacturing and metallic structure assembly plans.
AVEVA Bocad Onshore and Offshore extensions are specialized for Onshore and Offshore Structures (exploration, drilling, production and offshore).
AVEVA Bocad Tower is a new software suitable for the design of the towers, including those to support the chimneys of thermal power plants and pylons.
AVEVA Bocad Roof and Wall is used to design the structure of a building.
AVEVA Bocad NC est un logiciel permettant de générer et optimiser les données de paramétrage des machines à commande numérique. Ainsi les pièces sont réalisées directement à partir du modèle CAO 3D sans ressaisie manuelle.
AVEVA Bocad NC is used to generate and optimize CNC machine parameter data. The pieces are made directly from the 3D CAD model without manual re-keying.
