The 40th annual Offshore Europe Conference 2013 in Aberdeen, Scotland was the location of the official launch of AVEVA AVEVA Activity Visualization Platform (AVP).

AVEVA integrated NVIDIA PhysX technology, leader in the gaming industry, to create a realistic 3D virtual world, where users can conduct site tours, complete operational tasks, and realistically interact with the virtual environment. Users can walk and run, open doors, open and close valves, climb stairs, and even operate electrical control panels. Environmental data including lighting, climate, and geography can even be entered for enhanced realism.

AVEVA AVP is an indispensable tool for operators who, in most cases, only have access to layout drawings or TQC reviews showing one image at a time. The purpose of AVEVA AVP is to create interactive scenarios. AVEVA AVP enables teams of employees to perform simulated maintenance actions and emergency evacuation procedures, reducing human risk. The tool can be used for training purposes, so that operators gain experience during the design phase of a new project, during operational phases, and as the facility undertakes updates and changes.
