AVEVA World North America User Meeting 2015

New Orleans, November 12-14 2015

The AVEVA North America User Meeting took place in New Orleans, LA from November 17 to November 19, 2015. This event was a great opportunity to network and demonstrate the efficiency of AVEVA solutions in delivering successful projects on-time and on-budget. ORINOX was the official sponsor of this event, with a booth showcasing our global partnership and immersive training simulation services with AVEVA AVP.

With current market downturns, upstream companies are finding new ways to increase efficiency by revamping project workflow. AVEVA solutions provide many possibilities to increase productivity and optimize data management throughout the project life cycle.

Data standardization was a common theme at this year’s event. 50 up to 80 percent of engineering time is dedicated to reorganizing stand-alone program data. Worley Parsons and AMEC Foster Wheeler have started the journey towards AVEVA’s data centric solutions, which offer compare/update across all the AVEVA solutions during engineering and design phases by reducing rework.

Working with AVEVA data centric environment enables owner operators to review and control the data received from the EPCs. AVEVA Engage enables stakeholders to communicate and verify full-scale project models and their associated data in a touch-based environment.

Brownfield projects present many opportunities for the standardization of digital assets with their as-built counterparts. Laser scanning is a rapidly growing field for data capture, but until now reverse engineering would incur additional cost. The new release of E3D 2.1 enables users to integrate the point cloud directly into the existing 3D model. Specific elements can be “demolished” to design changes in the as-built environment, and the point cloud data may even be presented in 2D drawings alongside these changes. This new feature is poised to drastically change the design work by essentially eliminating the need for back-modeling. Worley Parsons provided a case study endorsing the compatibility between PDMS 12.1 SP4 and E3D 2.1 and the negligible time to convert PML macros.

TOTAL presented some of the ways that AVEVA solutions are facilitating the Martin Linge project in Norway. AVEVA has provided the information management and visualization capability needed for this project. To increase the safety of the offshore platform, they are currently using AVEVA AVP to simulate operating procedures.

AVEVA offers groundbreaking software solutions. Orinox is dedicated to optimizing these solutions and adapting them to the specific needs of our clients, ensuring data compliance, consistency, and completeness. In a nutshell, Orinox bridges the gap between the AVEVA software suite and your engineering projects.
