  AVEVA WORLD Summit ORINOX

AVEVA World Summit 2017

AVEVA World Summit is the collective name for AVEVA conferences in which AVEVA and its clients introduce the latest projects, solutions and products.

There are meetings which are country specific, in a local language, but once a year, there is the worldwide summit, like this one. This year’s summit took place in Cambridge, in honor to AVEVA, founded 50 years ago as a spring-off from the University. At the time called CAD Centre, Cambridge was tasked with finding ways to operate /exploit the industrial use of the only computer in the United Kingdom at that time.

The themes were all about processing into the digital age. The plant design industry has lagged the consumer business and the manufacturing industries in the pursuit of using databases to drive the processes for assets creation and maintenance. Nowadays, in the “plant business”, it has become accepted that the additional effort to create and maintain a digital asset is a prerequisite, for efficiency improvement.

So this year’s AWS was no longer about if companies should create a digital asset as a twin of the physical asset, but more about how and how fast they could get there.

ORINOX’s contribution to this year’s conference was a world’s first: OCWS is an ORINOX developed solution to run complete projects in the Cloud. Starting a new project on the AVEVA tools now only takes a few weeks to set up, rather than months. Moreover administrators don’t need to be full time at the client, but can do their job from the ORINOX back-office. It is better than VDI or Citrix, because 3D users have the exact same performance as when they are running E3D on their desktop, thanks to very powerful graphic processor servers in the Cloud. It is better than Global because it uses the same method to solve the globalization of all AVEVA tools, even P&ID, E&I or AVEVA NET.

ORINOX was proud to be plenary sponsor of this year’s AVEVA World Summit in Cambridge

ORINOX booth showing a world premiere : the entire AVEVA software suite in the Cloud.

No project set-up time anymore, everything a project needs is already there, administered by ORINOX experts in the back-office

ORINOX – on invitation of AVEVA – showed how AVEVA gaming technology AVP can be applied to Immersive Training Simulation

Students can move their Avatars around in the 3D model to show the instructor that they have the correct response to unexpected situations which occur during routine tasks.

This kind of training allows students to make mistakes which makes them remember far better than with conventional video or text based learning.

It was all about the digital plant journey. No longer about if this makes sense, but more about how fast can we get there together.

An unbelievable experience to be together with 450 delegates in such a historical place! An evening to remember!

Southern Company is on the way to get 3000 people trained on AVEVA tools. A successful journey which already has an impact of 30% on the efficiency in engineering.

ORINOX will take advantage of AVEVA’s software as a service when it becomes available for E3D and other products. But the ORINOX Cloud is far more than SaaS: it contains all the master settings which ORINOX has developed over time, all cats and specs, all drawing templates, data sheets, etc. And all AVEVA IED products are already integrated. Compare and update is operational. AVEVAnet provides design in context. The only thing that is missing is your project!

Monica always has some words of wisdom about the CAD and PLM industry.

Honored to have James Kidd, AVEVA’s CEO at the ORINOX booth

Thanks for coming, and see you next time at an AVEVA summit!
